With thoughtful planning and the right techniques, you can prepare effectively and perform at your best. A little bit of stress can motivate you to perform at your best. The main thing is to manage it well.

1. Practice Mindfulness

Mindfulness helps calm the mind and improve focus. Meditation, deep breathing, and visualization lower stress levels.

How to Do It: Spend 5-10 minutes daily on mindfulness. Try deep breathing: inhale for 4 counts, hold for 4, exhale for 4.

Pro Tip: Visualize yourself confidently writing your exam for better mental preparation.

3. Establish a realistic study pattern

Divide your day into manageable study sessions, dedicating each block to a specific topic. Maintain a balance of time between learning new material and revising old material. Incorporate small breaks to avoid fatigue. Consider using the Pomodoro technique – study for 25-30 minutes, followed by a 5-minute break, and a longer break after four such cycles.

4. Focus on revision

This is not the time to dive into completely new topics, unless absolutely necessary. Instead, revisit what you’ve already studied. Summarise key formulas, definitions and points into short notes or flashcards for quick revision in the days leading up to the exam.

5. Practice past papers

Solve previous years’ papers to get familiar with the exam format and improve your speed and accuracy. Simulate exam conditions by timing yourself, which can help boost confidence.

6. Practice Deep Breathing

Why It Matters: Deep breathing reduces anxiety and restores focus.

How to Do It:

  • Inhale deeply for 4 seconds.
  • Hold for 4 seconds.
  • Exhale slowly for 4 seconds.
  • Repeat when feeling overwhelmed.

7. Prioritize sleep and nutrition

Adequate sleep (six to seven hours per night) is important for maintaining concentration and memory. Eat a balanced diet consisting of fruits, vegetables, and nuts to improve brain function. Stay hydrated and minimise caffeine consumption as it can increase anxiety.

8. Avoid comparisons and stay positive

Every student learns at his or her own pace, so avoid comparing yourself to others. Have faith in your preparation and progress. Remember the efforts you have made and be optimistic about the result.

Consistency, confidence, and self-belief are your strongest allies when preparing for CBSE Board Exams 2025. Stay focused and give your best!

9. Manage stress with relaxation techniques

Fight anxiety with simple relaxation exercises:

  • Deep breathing: Take a deep breath in through your nose, hold for a few seconds, and exhale slowly through your mouth. Repeat for one to two minutes.
  • Positive visualization: Imagine yourself taking the exam with calmness and confidence. Visualizing success can boost your confidence.
  • It is normal to feel a little nervous and it reflects your dedication. Focus on keeping it under control.
